Am I the monster?
Is feeding upon frightened forms a crime?
When did humanity reach such a luster?
Are not cattle slain for meat all the time?
Am I the tainted temple?
Because my thirst is metallic?
War gorges on millions for example.
So what I cause just a little havoc?
Am I not the human mirror?
Do you not drink the crust dry,
Devouring all things that come near?
Yet you’ll mock me and curse me to die.
