A Hunter’s Dilemma

My prey walks alongside me unabated,

Their bright blue eyes lingering on mine,

It is not your fault, love, that my hunger is unsated,

For I would rather retain that soul of the divine

That burns within you. Let my soul remain

In this pale, liminal husk, breathing

In that sickening and sweet refrain,

A refrain that leaves me singing.

However, my hunger will not be stalled forever,

For a storm has come for you to weather.

There’ll come a day where I must drink,

Bloodlust and hunger running through my undead heart.

Perhaps, I could find a way to clutch the brink Before I carve my love apart…
