The air whips past my head, whipping
Around my long black hair. Starlight flashes,
Glittering in the corner of my eyes. Nebulae shimmer in the abyss
Sight expanding beyond mortal consciousness.
Overwhelming torrents
Of light searing my irises till my
Mortal form expands beyond flesh and bone.
My spirit tears out into the infinite,
Heat emanating from the star to my side,
Soaking my essence
In radiant, soothing light. Shadows cling to my skin,
Like threads in a loom,
A loom that tethers me to the Universe, Life, and Death.
Life raises her hands,
Pouring rejuvenation onto my ghostly web of corporeality,
Before pressing her hands to my ghastly cheeks.
Death takes my hands, sending
A shiver down my spine as both clutch me in their grasp.
My essence flows back into my flesh,
Shedding light on my connection to the Earth once again.
We are born of the same elements.
Everything within the sun’s grasp is my sibling.
