Frostbitten

Winter’s reproach left a blister

I truly missed her younger sister

Spring made the day so jolly

While Winter gave bells of holly

People call me ungrateful

To a companion so faithful

Winter’s hand always made me shiver

Spring’s glow forced my eyes to quiver

Yet my cold accomplice would bring snow

Which often made my busy week slow

Maybe Winter had her charms

At least when she didn’t murder my farms

Spring had her perks and toil

Yet Fall and Winter prepared the soil

Frostbitten trees glitter and gleam

As my lips are warmed by steam

Of chocolate roiling in my grasp

Winter took my breath with a gasp
