Imitation

I try my best to be normal, I really do.
I try my best to see your point of view.
I try to see what you see,
You know,
A hope for tomorrow filled with glee.
I truly try my best to see the silver lining
As it reflects off the moonlit evening.
But I can’t.
For all the attempts to see, I find envy.
I envy the wondrous light that looks so heavy.
Your life looks like it’s damn near divine.
But alas,
We both know you pretend to be fine.
Like a mirage in the desert,
Your radiance is rather inert.
