An angel who plummeted like a meteor from Heaven
Walks the streets amongst us, her mottled wings
Brushing against the shoulders of oblivious mortals
Too lost in their own world to care. Except one.
A relatively average man with a devilish smile
Happened to whisper – “Hello, feathered one.”
Like a newfound discovery, a spotlight shone on
The Angel named Grace, her face gleaming like
A newborn star. The man walked away,
His chocolate-colored locks flowing in the wind.

A Banquet lies on the table, fit for royalty;
An exquisite testament to human ingenuity
Succulent scents dance within my nose,
Whilst the drinks keep pouring as if from a hose.
My dates earthy hair hangs just over his eyes
Like vines, a growth that covers his guise
Molten flows of sweet, ebony deliciousness
Overtake every inch of my consciousness.

Your breath, like a warm summer breeze blows on
My skin. Somehow you turned my dark skies to
A rich rose red. Your sweet scent lingers here
Like a ghost that loiters in the hall; you
Smile at my tired face. My hands stroke your down,
Tracing shapes like an artist would, painting
An entire universe for us to
Explore. Your black eyes piercing holes through my
Soul, dredging deep into my heart, my thoughts
Singing a chorus as black as your wings.
Yet there is solitude when I’m with you,
A tranquil river that lulls me to sleep.
I dread when I sleep for I lose sight of
You, a fragment of the divine on Earth.

My divine lover
Image of Aphrodite
Vase of Pink Poppies
Oh, mortal of mine
Your compassion is like a
Violet Hydrangea
My Chrysanthemum
How do you remain so bright
Within my inky wings
Angelic woman
May our bliss persist like a
Winter Peony

Good morning, Mindin,
I wish you were here by my side, but I know you have a company meeting to attend. I adore the fact that you are willing to accommodate me and send me letters. I know that phones are the big new thing, but there is something special about sending a letter to someone you love. Today, your parents came over to say hi. I love when your parents visit, though I am surprised that they can see my wings as well. Your mother is the sweetest thing, but I think she believes I can still perform miracles. Also, your parents asked me when we are planning on having children. I don’t know if I can guarantee that.
Love,
Grace

Good evening, Grace,
I miss your warmth in my bed, your soft feathers brushing against my skin. I’ll be coming home in a few days with some special things for you from the gift shops. The weather in the mountains is quite cold, the landscape is smothered in snow like a blanket. The peppermint hot chocolate is delicious, though it is not as good as anything you make. Don’t pay too much attention to my parents. They always do things like that whenever I start talking to a woman. It can be so damn annoying at times and that’s something I would never wish upon anyone. I notice in the picture you sent in this letter that you bought a new set of makeup. It looks heavenly on you, pun intended.
Love,
Mindin

Dear Mother,
Grace and I have been very excited to tell you this news. Grace is more human than I and the doctors initially thought. You can stop pestering Grace whenever you come over. You’re getting the grandchildren you have been asking for. Yes, I said grandchildren. Grace has been carrying twins for around six months now. Also, the heat is almost unbearable here in Jacksonville. You wouldn’t want to be here.
Love,
Your son, Mindin

Dear Father-in-law,
Yesterday, I gave birth to our twins, and they are the most beautiful creatures I’ve ever seen. They have their father’s vibrant blue eyes and my black hair, and they have tiny little wings too. We named the boy Cyrill and the girl Jelena. It truly makes me wonder if they’ll have abilities that they can conjure as well in the future. Thankfully, the doctors did not seem to notice the children’s wings, so there secret is safe for now. I hope that heaven doesn’t come knocking on our doorstep. Please be sure to come visit when we return home.
Best wishes,
Grace

I couldn’t get away from you,
Your love dragging me into your orbit.
I still can’t get enough of you
The first time we met I knew.
Within my heart, a fire was lit,
I couldn’t get away from you.
To this day, I have no clue
Why in my arms you find respite.
I still can’t seem to fully know you.
You brought me into glorious view,
Kept me safe from wanting to quit,
It’s no wonder I can’t get enough of you.
We’ve brought to this world something new,
A pair of youthful souls that’ll test our limit.
I couldn’t get away from you,
Like a pair of trees, around one another we grew.
