Majesty

I fashioned myself a diamond crown
Though it pales in comparison to yours
For all my craftsmanship, I can’t recreate
The magic poured into the refined gold artistry
Sapphires and rubies cut into neat squares
All set among pristine inlays of silver
Yet, I’ll take my amethysts and diamonds
For this coronation belongs to me alone
The unceremonious triumph of the hero
Unwanted by the cacophonous racket
Of those who threw me aside
Like repulsive sewage rotting in the crackly bag
For upon this transfigured throne sits a newborn king
Dreams and ambitions alight in streams
A reign blessed by the hand of Night
