Reintegration

A matching pair of hazel eyes

Bore holes right through mine

Staring beyond my smiling guise

As the looking-glass images align

Smothering masks take the reins

Emotions entwined without rest

Blood rushing endlessly in my veins

As a fire alights within my chest

The silver moon bright and strong

Comforts me with cosmic splendor

As effervescent flowers sway along

It was then, at last, I could remember

Although I share his eyes and lore

I’m not that scared little boy anymore
