Relinquished

In solemn silence a vow was spoken
From a gentle heart sealed and broken
Tattered sails flutter in the exhales
Surveying the path for what it entails
Waves crash upon the battered hull
Beholden to the cries of an ancient lull
Salt showers the dreary crew
Concealing all they say and do
Yet a cold hand turns the page
Pulling this wreckage to a new age
Where violet notes coat the boat
And blue bolts arc in the ashen moat
Such is the fate that lies in wait
For the few who sublimate
