Rogue

Cold blows through the gaseous atmosphere

But no light shines through these clouds

This child is all alone in the dark

Drifting beyond the reach of starlight

The largest of galaxies becoming mere dots

Of light in the eternal night of this world

Though I should correct an error.

This child has small little companions

Even fainter motes of rock and dust

That no eyes will ever see.

Such is the fate of rogue planets

Forever adrift, forever cold.
