Soothing rivers run through my veins,
A gentle warmth laps at my skin, almost as if it were
Humming a song. A breeze blows my hair in the
Wind, a whistling wind. Your light shines like
The spring sun. Though the sun shines no more.
I still feel your touch.
Your touch, yes, one that lingers the one
That is no longer here. Alive, but gone all the same.
Once in a while, your ghost haunts my dreams.
This time, your eyes glow white hot,
Your feet scorch the very ground beneath them.
A bell tolls in the beyond, and your ghost
Is gone once more,
The sun setting on this dismal scene…
The cold light chills my bones. The sanctuary fades
to black
As my dreamland burns to ashes. Burning leaves
Blowing in the wind. Luna’s condescending stare falls
From above, her silver eyes piercing into my soul,
Almost saying “You did this!” Snow blankets my flesh,
Hypothermia drinks my life away, slowing my pulse.
Frostbite clings to me, holding me close,
Gripping me tight in its cold, rigid arms.
What happened to my sunshine?
