Upon the Seas

As I lie on the deck
Of this ship of mine
Doing my best to avoid shipwreck
That would not be good for the spine
Waves crash against the hull
Putting me to sleep through the lull
Drifting upon the seven seas
Seeking meaning far from the trees

Looking up to the sky
I can't help but sigh
Pondering the immense pain
And suffocate beneath constant rain
Yet there's light so bright
I forget this agonizing plight
Floating upon the endless seas
Stranded within the cosmic breeze

My eyes dart open from the rising sun
Land cresting above the horizon
Reality blows in on the wind
A curse I cannot rescind
My return to the shore is not welcome
As monthly payments are a custom
I walk away from the ignorant seas
Forced to wade through a wave of fees
