I think that most simple things that bring me joy are connected to nature in some way. One such example is just strolling through a park. I like hearing the birds chirping and the leaves crunching under my feet. I especially enjoy walking along park paths after a fresh snow falls during the winter. I remember a time when I walked through my local park during last Winter in February after a snowstorm. The sun was shining and reflecting off the white snow as a chilling breeze buffeted my jacket and struck my neck. Despite the frigid temperatures, I found myself enjoying that walk more than most that I had taken during that winter. I think I particularly enjoyed the walk because there wasn’t any more snow forecast in the future, so I took the time to live in the moment with the last snowfall of the season.
Alternatively, another thing I enjoy as a simple pleasure is sitting in the company of close friends and loved ones. Honestly, I don’t even mind just sitting with someone in silence. I think the fact that there is someone else in the room is fine with me. I’ve found that sometimes people always want to be doing something, which I find kind of annoying at times. Sometimes my favorite things to do is just talk with people at my own pace, which often takes a lot of time. So, if I am sitting in silence with someone, it means that I am very comfortable with them. I don’t think people really have appreciated that as much as I’d like them to have.
Of course, I could go on and on about little things that I enjoy about life, but I won’t drown you in the details of all those things. Instead, I’d like to hear from some of you. What are some of the little things that you enjoy about life?
