How do you define success in life?

I’d say that success in life is governed by the ability for you to choose whatever path you’d like to take during your day. Success is when you can act freely without a ton of stressors and responsibilities weighing you down. When you can look upon your life and smile with a short list of regrets. To each person this idea might look different, but I’d consider myself successful when the weight of what comes tomorrow doesn’t affect my present. Sometimes I feel that success. Sometimes I feel as though I’m barely keeping everything together.

Success is a lot of work. Plans and strategies need to be created to delegate the best resources towards your projects while preparing contingencies for possible failures is vitally important to a winning strategy. The energy that you put into the goals you have is one of the most important parts of success, though that energy needs to be directed through the most efficient channels you can create to build up that success.

Success is also a matter of luck. Someone might be successful one day, then lose it all the next. Success is a pendulum that oscillates back and forth, and the truly successful know how to maximize their good fortune. Stock market investors and market volatility are both good examples of this concept, but there is something even deeper than this. All the opportunities we are handed in life are a matter of chance. Someone decided to take a chance on the new hire. A board member decided to grant you a scholarship. All of these things are a matter of chance, a gamble so to speak.

But that’s how I define success. Tell me how you’d define success in your life in the comments below.
