Bloom

A fire ignites within my heart,
Weaving my broken pieces together once again.
Flowers blossoming upon the tips of my branches,
Spreading wide for all to see.
Emotions rise to the surface,
Past pain trying to block the new growth,
Yet I fly higher and higher,
Breaking the shackles that bind my wings.

Phoenix ashes ignite just like my soul,
Sparking this weathered spirit to life.
Black feathers flutter to the ground,
Each one carrying a piece of me
Down to the ground below; A seed grows
In spite of all the loss,
Finding life once more within this husk.
